Dr. Bright; a fighter to protect democracy and multi-party in Sierra Leone
Alan Luke, NGC Elected National Diaspora Co-ordinator reminisces on the resistance NGC Chairman and Leader put up in order to ensure political parties participate in local government elections.

Dennis Bright leading our resistance to PAOPA SLPP plans to prevent political parties from participating in local government elections.
Make no mistake, the Bio-led government will leave no stone unturned to rig and suppress votes. We must be determined now, as he was two years ago to secure a change of governance which is NGC led or with NGC playing a prominent role, and consistent with our values to put Sa Lone Fos.
Having concluded our Lower-Level Elections, NGC now has about 10,000 executives in 446 Wards, 132 Constituencies, 16 Districts and 5 Regions in Sierra Leone. NGC is the only opposition party to have completed our National Delegates Conference. This means that come the 2023 Multi-Tier Elections, and contrary to what APC and SLPP pundits and vuvuzelas have been saying, Sierra Leoneans will not go into the elections, without an alternative choice to the wretched and kleptomanic Bio-led government, which has presided over
1) 35% food price inflation
2) Devaluation of Leone from Le 8800 to £1 in April 2018 to Le22,000 to £1 today.
3) Failure to provide the economic conditions in which 500,000 jobs would be created in the first year, as President Bio said he would. He has only managed to bloat government bureaucracies with SLPP supporters and increased the public wage bill, which has effectively killed the private sector. And I haven't even mentioned dipping their hands into the public purse for their own personal enrichment.
NGCians, you may not have supported Dennis at the National Delegates Conference. You don't have to send him Christmas cards. That is okay. However, he secured the confidence of the majority of delegates and won by a landslide, because of he has consistently spoken truth to power, in defence of the human rights, economic prosperity of the average Sierra Leonean, and the political stability, cohesiveness and co-existence of our beloved country, as shown in this video.
He has Kandeh's confidence, and more importantly, the mandate to lead this party into the 2023 elections, explore the possibility of strategic alliances, where it is consistent with our values and in the interest of the people of Sierra Leone to do so. They are working foot to foot to ensure that NGC is in governance in 2023.
In Kandeh, Sierra Leone also has a credible alternative who is trusted by the people, to provide good governance, where
1) politicians do not fatten themselves with public funds, which is intended to provide milk and essential vaccinations for under fives;
2) education that is well funded and relevant for our children; skills training, apprenticeship opportunities for the unskilled;
3) subsidies for farmers and fishermen so that they can compete and create food sufficiency;
4) price stability, sound fiscal and monetary policies, so that our market traders and business people can do business with confidence and
6) a framework of laws, which guarantees the citizens protections from the abuse of state power, freedom of speech, association and assembly.
