KKY Entagled?

 KKY seemingly entangled

By M. Keita

From my close observation  on recent development in politics as election approaches, it seems the two giant political parties who have maintained dominance in the political landscape of the country since independence are scrambling for KKY, one of the finest political figures who has maintained neutrality and has always preached cohesion as a vehicle of change/positive transformation. For now, he and his party could arguably be the only centrist that have survived the negative influence of the two traditional political parties.

The SLPP and APC who have largely built their nest around voters, mainly on the ground of Region and tribe; drumming ethnocentrism, acrimony, tirade and other forms of politics that is disastrous to our country have always seen KKY as someone who would not easily succeed in his political ambition with a third force. Even their  supporters (primitive loyalists), including people in the highest academic eminence have asserted to this belief. Many of those supporters have now become obedient robots and tools in the hands of their political parties. Their high level of dogmatism coulkd not be overemphasized.

The traditional politics, or better still ethnopolitics seems to have eaten into the cognition of people. Sierra Leoneans are debatably careless about the negative effect of primitive loyalty to the two traditional political parties which has arguably caused the country more harm than good, confirming Emerson's "Coconut Head" song.

The eleven years conflict, corruption, political division, high scale nepotism et 'al are all orchestrated by the two traditional political parties. Let's learn this and deeply reflect on it.

In my view, they are the greatest problem to our beloved country.

Seizing advantage of their (Paopa and Tolongbo) dominance over the populace as against the reality, they would want to find allegiance with KKY in a bid for one of them to gain power comes 2023.

Whether he (KKY) is needed to tap into his wealth of experience or to get the vote of his followers in order to win the next election, is something I can't confirm, but probably both.

Assuming the worse case scenario (where KKY would need to cross carpet) as things unfold, it would definitely position KKY in a critical state to make a sound decision on this matter, following that he has always viewed them (Tolongbo and Paopa) as comme ci, comme ca (having similar attributes). Objective thinkers would posit that they (Paopa and Tolongbo) are the same. Chernor Bah, the editor of the Africanist Press has espoused that there is little or no difference between the two traditional political parties.

On the other hand, KKY holds the belief that we must forgive and forget if  we want to make a better politics. Is this a plan to compromise?

Whatever the case might be, this would difficult KKY to take decision on which party to throw support, as he always stands for what would bring oneness amongst politicians, their supporters and the country at large, stemming from the belief that if we don't learn to come together as brothers, we shall perish together as bunches of fools, as inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.

For his (KKY) supporters (member of the NGC), the decision would vary, as some would rather choose one party as against the other depending on individual gratification either on the bases of ethnicity or direct benefit.

On the other hand, there would be some other who would rather not want KKY to support either of them (Paopa and Tolongbo), as NGC is here to stay, and therefore must not follow the trend of PMDC, UDM, NDA and the likes. I stand with the latter view.

Verily, between Paopa and Tolongbo, I can't be sure where KKY would choose, but such situation places one in a difficult position.

Nevertheless, I always know KKY as a man full of wisdom and with good intention to transform this country to a better place. He is not like other politicians who would want to force their way just for their personal interest. And this might be the reason why the two factions (Paopa and Tolongbo), badly needs KKY.

Note: In my piece, I refused to call them (Paopa and Tolongbo) SLPP and APC as they have drifted from the true meaning of their names. They have killed the true values of what they claimed.

Ar blow fos 😉
