THANK YOU ALL FROM SALON FOS

Appreciation Note From The SALON FOS NEWSPAPER/MEDIA TEAM

By: Musa Kamara

The sudden and shocking news of the demise of the Late Mrs. Philomena Veronica Nyanga Yumkella was received by Sierra Leoneans with heavy heart. Mrs. Yumkella, through the many tributes the Salon Fos Media come across the past few weeks, was a true and dedicated philanthropist that spent all her lifetime serving humanity. Mrs. Yumkella (Aunty Phio) was globally known to be a bridge builder, a life giver and a life changer.

Aunty Philo left an indelible mark on children's and girl's lives. Her works touched the lives of thousands of deprived citizens of Sierra Leone. Through her work, Aunty Philo has been able to lift many lives out of poverty.

Albeit the humanitarian aspect of Aunty Philo spotlighted the occasion, she was also known to be a UNIFIER and a bridge builder. The reason the world saw thousands of condolence messages from different people all over the world, but more outstandingly, was the fact that, even though Aunty Philo's husband is a political figure, the funeral events of Aunty Philo saw different political leaders from different political parties coming together to grief and console with the families of the late Mrs. Yumkella. The presence of the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone and his family, the presence of the 2018 Flagbearer candidate of the APC party, senior members of the APC, Government ministers, and heads of parastatals and leaders of other parties including members of Parliament that belong to different political parties is a clear manifestation that, Aunty Philo was truly loved beyond political lines and she was a bridge builder. Even in her death, Aunty Philo was able to bring people together.

It is on this note that; the SALON FOS MEDIA Team wishes to profusely thank and appreciate the Leadership and Members of the NGC Party, the Leadership and members of the SLPP, the Leadership and members of the APC Party, the Leadership and members of the C4C Party, the Leadership and members of the UP and all other political parties that one way or the other sympathized with the families of the late Mrs. Yumkella. Special thanks to the President of Sierra Leone and his wife for taking time out and sympathized with the families. The coming together of these different political actors signifies that, we can indeed coexist in this country. The passing on of Aunty Philo sends a signal that, we can do great things together. This has been one of the many dreams of Aunty Philo, to see a unified Sierra Leone. We pray it continues.

Dr. Sanura Kamara and Dr. Yumkella

But most importantly, thank you to the world (Sierra Leoneans to be specific, both at home and abroad), to the old students of QUROSA (QRS), the Lanyi Foundation, Caritas Freetown, and all other NGOs, for the outpouring of support you gave to the Yumkella and Nicholas Families during this difficult time. Your support and words of encouragement meant a lot to the world and how we should live as citizens. Many thanks also to all support groups within the NGC party that came out in numbers to pay final respect to our late mother.

The Salon Fos Media would also like to thank all its partners that helped with the media coverage of the funeral events of the late Mrs. Yumkella. The NGC UK&I Executive, the NGC North America Executive, the NGC Global Media Team and a special one to the National Secretariat of the NGC Party. The SALON FOS MEDIA is eternally grateful to you all and may the soul of the late Mrs. Philomena Veronica Nyanga Yumkella continues to rest in peace.

 Amen...
