NGC ON THE RIGHT TRAJECTORY

Image
Dear Founding members of NGC, in addition to the ongoing local efforts at reconciliation,  I have been engaged by the NGC-NA and UK&I executives and elders councils. I have  assured them that we will move forward along the trajectory set by the Convention and NEC meeting unabated. We extend our gratitude to our Deputy Chairman and Leader, our Secretary General, the Youth Wing and Women's Wing, and all those who have come forward to clarify issues.  Fake news and negative propaganda will not deter us from our core values and our belief that Sierra Leone needs a coalition of progressives across party lines. Our common enemies are still poverty, ignorance and corruption, rather than people in other political parties.  Yesterday, the National Officers showed me their work program with preset dates for several activities and meetings. Let's support them robustly. We will soon go nationwide, and to every district, with our message of Compassionate Inclusive Gove...

EON-SL and NGC

Image
Elections Observers Network (EON-SL) Present final findings on the just concluded National Delegates Conference and Convention of the NGC Party. The ELECTIONS OBSERVER NETWORK (EON–SL), an independent organised has submitted its report on the NGC National Delegates Conference held on 13 and 14 December 2022, which paves the way for NGC to contest the Multi-Tier Elections in 2023. NGC is the only opposition party to have concluded all required Lower-Level Elections and National Delegates Conference, which provides voters with an alternative to the poor governance of the Bio-led SLPP government.  The Conference gave the National Executive Committee, the mandate to pursue strategic alliances with other political parties, which is consistent with NGC's values and in the interest of the people of Sierra Leone.  EON's report is a vindication that the National Delegates Conference, was free and fair to all who participated in the process.  Here is the full text of their report.?...

Dr. Bright; a fighter to protect democracy and multi-party in Sierra Leone

Image
Alan Luke, NGC Elected National Diaspora Co-ordinator reminisces on the resistance NGC Chairman and Leader put up in order to ensure political parties participate in local government elections . By: Alan Luke . Dennis Bright leading our resistance to PAOPA SLPP plans to prevent political parties from participating in local government elections. Make no mistake, the Bio-led government will leave no stone unturned to rig and suppress votes. We must be determined now, as he was two years ago to secure a change of governance which is NGC led or with NGC playing a prominent role, and consistent with our values to put Sa Lone Fos. Having concluded our Lower-Level Elections, NGC now has about 10,000 executives in 446 Wards, 132 Constituencies, 16 Districts and 5 Regions in Sierra Leone. NGC is the only opposition party to have  completed our National Delegates Conference. This means that come the 2023 Multi-Tier Elections, and contrary to what APC and SLPP pundits and vuv...

Kpulun Exposed

Image
Elections Observers Network Exposes Maada Kpulun’s Lies. Mr Joseph Maada Kpulun claim that NGC is violent, undemocratic and unfit for purpose, after losing the race for the position of National Chairman and Leader of the third largest political force in Sierra Leone’s politics is a classic example of sour grapes. It is a Trumpian claim and it exposes Mr Kpulun’s unwillingness to concede to the victor, Dr Dennis Bright. Before addressing Mr Kpulun’s ridiculous assertions, Sierra Leoneans need to understand how seismic the NGC’s completion of its National Delegates Conference is, in other to appreciate that Mr Kpulun, is merely a puppet on a string, pulled by his puppeteer with whom he shares the same middle name – Maada. Other than the SLPP Paopa led government, NGC is the only party that has managed to navigate all the obstacles put in the path of the opposition parties ahead of the 2023 elections. In contrast to the 2018 elections, when 13 political parties contested the elections, in...

Global Times Newspaper in Limbo

Image
Is Global Times now sweeping the issue under the carpet, as it maintained in February 2018? The National Grand Coalition (NGC) Party seems to have drawn the ire of local media after it successfully completed its Lower-Level Elections and National Delegates Conference, being the only opposition party to do.  Both the public service broadcaster, SLBC and the SLPP newspaper, Global Times have used their platforms to air the grievances and baseless allegations of the defeated candidate for the position of National Chairman and Leader, Mr Joseph Maada Kpulun, without giving the party the opportunity to challenge him, when the allegations were aired.  This would not come as a surprise to Sierra Leoneans, as both SLBC and the SLPP leaning Global Times are beholden to whims of the current government.     In the exclusive interview that Global Times offered Mr Kpulun, the medium failed to ask Mr Kpulun about the rape allegations against him, which the Global Times...
